Wildcard Wonder: Hawal Stuns Coll in Giza |
17-year-old wildcard Adam Hawal (World No.252) pulled off one of the biggest shocks in PSA history, taking down World No.3 Paul Coll to reach the third round of the CIB Egyptian Open. Coll cruised through the first game, but Hawal roared back to win the match, leaving Coll fuming. Hawal, who beat World No.32 Curtis Malik in round one, now moves to the all-glass court by the pyramids to face Fares Dessouky. “I used to watch this tournament as a kid,” he said. “Now I get to be a Pharaoh.” Hawal is back in action again tonight against Fares Dessouky for a place in the Quarter-Finals. Can his winning run continue? Find out live on SQUASHTV. |
