Just six weeks on from launching our new strategy, Squash: The Future Starts Today, I’m delighted to share that Play Squash is now live.
Play Squash is a major step forward in making squash more visible, accessible and relevant to more people, and one of the first ways we’re bringing our strategy to life.
For the first time, Play Squash brings together beginner-friendly advice and bookable local sessions in one place, creating a clearer route into squash than ever before. It gives clubs and venues a free way to make their activities visible to prospective players beyond their existing squash network – whether that’s beginner programmes, improver sessions, social sessions or club nights.
Why this matters
Play Squash gives clubs and venues a free way to:
-
get found by people looking for squash in their area
-
turn interest into bookings
-
choose whether to take bookings on Play Squash or direct players to their own booking system
-
showcase the activity they already run without changing how they operate
With more than 500 clubs signed up, there’s strong momentum behind the platform. The more clubs and venues that get involved, the more compelling Play Squash becomes as a national route into the sport.
With national advertising campaigns for Squash Stars and Women’s Squash Week coming up soon, this is a valuable opportunity for clubs to list relevant sessions and capitalise on free adverts:
-
Squash Stars: 3 August – 13 September
-
Women’s Squash Week: 17 August – 20 September
How your county can support
To list sessions on Play Squash, clubs and venues first need to register. We’d welcome your support in encouraging as many clubs, venues and coaches as possible in your area to:
-
Find out more and register for an account on the Play Squash club guidance page.
-
Share the opportunity through your county communications and networks.
-
Encourage clubs and counties to join our Play Squash drop-in sessions. These sessions are an opportunity to ask questions and feel confident about using the platform. There’s no need to register – clubs and coaches can drop in at a time that works best for them on either: Tuesday 7 July at 6:30pm or Wednesday 8 July at 12:30pm.
