Defending Champions Makin & Kennedy Headline 2025 British Nationals
British No.1s Joel Makin and Georgina Kennedy have been named as the top seeds for the upcoming 2025 British National Squash Championships, which will take place at St George’s Hill Lawn Tennis Club in Weybridge between 26-30 August. World No.4 Makin returns to defend the title he won last August when he defeated former World No.1 Mohamed ElShorbagy in a thrilling 85-minute final. The two-time British National champion will begin his campaign against a qualifier, before a potential quarter-final against Adrian Waller and a semi-final clash with up-and-coming Jonah Bryant. Meanwhile, in the women’s draw, defending champion Georgina Kennedy and two-time winner Tesni Murphy are seeded to meet in the final. World No.9 Kennedy claimed her first British Nationals title last year after defeating Sarah-Jane Perry in a hard-fought four-game final – reversing the scoreline from the women’s final three years prior to that.
