The club brought a pop-up practice ‘wall’ to allow people to have a hit and get the feel of a squash racket! This proved very popular with many of the youngsters – especially with sweeties and squash balls as rewards for having a go!
As well as promoting the benefits of squash from a health perspective, we hoped to attract a few new members and brought along a load of flyers with a QR code linked to club website to hand out. A number of prospective members have already followed up and membership secretary Duncan Nightingale has been giving them more information and details of how to join. This link is an easy way to give anybody an information dump on the club.
Thanks go to several club members for their help:
Peter Hopkins for the initial idea to attend and for supplying the pop-up ‘wall’, rackets and balls.
Steve Dance for all admin and organisation.
Jim Reay for supplying the table, signage, QR code flyers – and for his ingenuity in fabricating replacement parts for the ‘wall’!
Des and Duncan Nightingale for set-up and sweetie supply.
Roger Booker for supply of real squash balls as give aways.
Richard Little, Richard Hindley, Sam Carr, Pete Harrison for helping to man the stand.
